Boys Netball Pathways

BOYS NETBALL PATHWAYS

We’ve been leading the way in providing Boys Netball pathways since 2018. Growing up, our very own Greg fell in love with playing sport at the elite level and one of those sports was Netball. Representing Victoria, Western Australia and having the opportunity to travel around the World with the Australian Kelpies, Greg knew that this was a sport for everyone and that through Inspire he would start providing a place for boys and men to feel safe to pursue Netball as a sport.

So in 2018, Greg and Guy developed a World first; our Boys Emerging Talent Academy in partnership with the Victorian Mens and Mixed Netball Association. Since its inception, the program has seen over 16 athletes progress through to the Victorian State Program and into the underage Australian teams.

BOYS SCHOOL HOLIDAY CLINICS

Each School holidays we provide young aspiring male netballers across Victoria the opportunity to spend time with our Elite level coaches where they can learn and develop their netball skills.

The clinics are led by former Australian Mens Netballer and Inspire Director Greg Heinrich and often joined by special guests from the Victorian Mens State Program.

Our clinics are targeted to athlete development and are more than just an activity to do on the holidays, they are a chance for athletes to take their game to another level and learn from the very best coaches and athletes in the Mens game.

BOYS EMERGING TALENT ACADEMY

The BETA program is targeted towards boys aged between 12-16 with the primary aims of the program being:

  • Implement a formal pathway program for boys in netball to progress through to the Victorian Mens State Program.

  • Provide a holistic program that introduces young athletes to the culture of High Performance including individual athlete development and their ability to contribute to a team environment.

  • Provide strong male role models.

The newly defined pathway program will be delivered over 9 months in 2024 and has three core components;

  1. Technical and Tactical Development: building athletes skillset and ability to understand the key concept of netball.

  2. Physical Preparation: supporting athletes in building a strong body that enables them to perform at the best.

  3. Athlete Development / Wellbeing: Understanding how to build a strong mind and a healthy lifestyle

Our #1 focus is to develop the next generation of male athletes to represent their State and their Country.

Team Inspire has helped provide my son with a pathway to netball where no one else was able to, I can’t tell you how much it means to him that he can pursue the sport he loves through the Inspire programs
